Economic times being what they are, most everyone is looking to save money where they can, and this seems like an excellent tradeoff to me.

Third, bare wood furniture allows you to put your innovative stamp on it as you finish the piece, instead of getting anything "just like every third house in the country." Express yourself! Be sole! Create something that's real "you."

Fourth, bare wood furniture is more durable. That's because, at the end of the day, all that pressboard really is not extremely rigid. All wood furniture is as rugged and durable as it's attractive.

Fifth, bare wood furniture gets better with age. With proper care at its finishing, you can make an heirloom piece which will possibly serve for generations. Most shop bought furniture simply becomes "used furniture" after 3-5 years. Huge difference.
