Since in general drag design turbines are not as efficient, they does not produce as much power as its more common horizontal cousin, but can still have a broad range of applications. This type of wind turbine is used in nearly all of the atmospheric surveillance stations around the world considering these tend to be located in isolated areas and the value of reliability and low power consumption make the Savonius wind turbine an excellent choice.
